CANK's reply to questions raised

Dear Cank,

Whilst not a member of your organisation - I have been quite involved with
the campaign in one way or another.
I visit your website everyday - and find it brilliant.

At present though, I and quite a few of my fellow campaigners are getting a
bit frustrated because we don't know where to go from here.  Perhaps you can
help by answering a few questions:

1.  Who asks for a public enquiry?
2.  Do we keep on bombarding the Welsh Assembly with letters/e-mails etc?
3.  Can the village have another Public Meeting - to keep them up-to-date
and interested in whats happening (preferably  chaired by an independant
person)?

Please give us some directive - in order to continue our battle.
Thanking you,
Yours for the cause,
Jacky Jones
Penymynydd

CANK replies:

Jacky,

To answer your various questions:

<<I and quite a few of my fellow campaigners are getting a bit frustrated because we
don't know where to go from here>>
Absolutely, I think the speed of the Welsh Assembly's reaction took us all by surprise.
CANK is actually in the process of producing a timetable of likely events and this will be
published on the Website as soon as it is ready.

1.  Who asks for a public enquiry?
The decision lies with the Secretary of Planning and the Environment - Peter Law.
As you know, his E-Mail address is peter.law@wales.gsi.gov.uk

2.  Do we keep on bombarding the Welsh Assembly with letters/e-mails etc?
Normally, we would say ,yes please. However, we understand that the Welsh Assembly has received in excess of 20,000 letters, pro-formas; faxes and E-Mails and the system is creaking. I think, perhaps, the point has been made, at least for the time being!

3.  Can the village have another Public Meeting - to keep them up-to-date
and interested in whats happening (preferably  chaired by an independant
person)?
Good suggestion.  CANK has been looking in to this and matters are in hand to have further
meetings in both Buckley and Penyffordd.
Again, full details will be published on the Site as soon as possible.

As you so rightly say, the battle is not over yet and we must keep up the momentum with the
same vigour that was being applied directly after the planning application was approved..
